Speaker - Michelle Fullner, Host of The Golden State Naturalist Podcast
Location - Garden At The Line in East Sacramento
Details:
Sacramento's plants and animals are living a secret social life filled with drama, rivalries, and a relentless competition for survival. Join Michelle Fullner, California Naturalist and host of the top-ranked Golden State Naturalist podcast, for an interactive, yearbook-themed lecture that reimagines our local ecosystem as one big high school. From the "Valedictorians" keeping the environment afloat to the "Invasive Bullies" trying to take over the lunchroom, we’re breaking down the social hierarchy of the Sacramento region’s flora and fauna in this interactive and fun lecture.
It's a night of local ecological competition, cooperation, and drama. This 45 minute lecture will include an in-depth breakdown of some of the most iconic (and a few lesser-known) natural residents of the city and region: including native, non-native, and invasive species. Michelle will share the beauty, mystery and awe she's discovered in the world right outside our doors. You’ll walk away from this lecture with a deeper understanding and appreciation of our region’s local species, natural wonders, and ecological challenges. So grab a bar stool while we navigate the complex social lives of Sacramento's natural neighborhoods.
